Product data on Fashion Cloud supports sustainability attributes. Fashion Cloud's sustainability attributes are designed to accommodate a diverse range of sustainability certifications, memberships, standards, and trademarked fibers. With support for over 60 attributes, brands can effectively communicate their sustainability efforts on an article level to their retail partners through Fashion Cloud.

Sustainability Attributes in Practice

What is our definition of a Sustainability Attribute?
A Sustainability Attribute at Fashion Cloud must comply with 3 basic criteria: it must cover a sustainable aspect, it must be assigned on an article level and it must be issued by an independent third party.
Widely used examples are: Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®, Cradle to Cradle Certified™, bluesign®, Global Recycled Standard, Leather Working Group, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and many others.

Which Sustainability Attributes are accepted?

How is Sustainability Attributes info structured?

Brands can share up to 4 Sustainability Attributes per product (EAN) with retailers. Each Sustainability Attribute includes several values of which are a few are mandatory and others are optional:

  • attribute name (mandatory)

  • certificate number (mandatory for specific attributes)

  • certificate institute (mandatory for specific attributes)

  • coverage (mandatory for specific attributes)

  • certification level (mandatory for specific attributes)

  • expiration date (optional)

  • visibility on article (optional).

How can I share Sustainability Attributes data?

To effectively share sustainability attributes with Fashion Cloud, it is essential to include them in the same file as your other product data. Whether you use an API connection or a CSV file (other formats like XML, JSON, or EDIFACT are also supported), the sustainability attributes should be integrated seamlessly.
